Greetings. My name is Scott Elliott and I am not your typical freelance writer or travel blogger.
I don’t write about top tourist traps, cheaper flights, hotels, or food & drink.

You, most likely, won’t find me at a national attraction or on a cruise ship.
I tend to explore the road less traveled; old castles, ghost towns, forgotten
battlefields and hidden mines or caves. I often search for locations of historical
significance lost in the rush of time, abandoned hopes and dreams, haunted
affairs, fabled treasures and lonesome places that have a story to tell, or a certain
legend connected to it. Often, they are places that are not easily accessible. They
have been overlooked, bypassed, and sometimes downright unheard of.

I have been exploring, photographing and writing about these kinds of places for 30 years. I have been published in print magazines and newsletters, as well as online outlets. I began my blog in October of 2018 and have traveled extensively for a variety of content. I am now broadening my horizons as a freelance writer, as I would like to share my explorations and historical perspectives with a wider readership.
